FROM WHERE TO START TO ORGANIZE A MARRIAGE

The first thing a married couple asks, when the decision to marry was taken, is: “Where do I start?”.
Although it may seem all very messy and confusing, there are elements of marriage that must be decided and confirmed before others. Below you will find the sequence of actions to be done in the right order.

1. DATE OF THE MARRIAGE

The most important thing to decide, regarding the wedding, is the date on which the event will take place. Our advice is to opt for a date that is at least 1 year / 1 year and a half later. This is because, especially if you want to marry in a period of high season (from April to October), you may find the church, the town hall, the Villa or the restaurant of your dreams already occupied. If this is not possible (for work commitments or unexpected events), we advise you to choose a date that will leave you at least 6 months to organize everything.
For more information on the ideal date for your wedding or budget and costs depending on the season you want to get married, visit the “Budget and Date” page on our website.

2. CONFIRMATION OF THE CHURCH / OF THE MUNICIPALITY
Ask for the availability of the parish priest or the mayor of reference as soon as you decide on the date. If the church or municipality is free, confirm it immediately.

3. CONFIRMATION OF THE VILLA / RESTAURANT / CATERING
The married couples book the place of the wedding reception well in advance.Find out as soon as possible about the locations in your area and visit them. It is not uncommon to find a Villa or a Restaurant already occupied with other marriages, even two years before the event. Keep in mind that Saturdays are more in demand than Sundays and that the period with most weddings is from April to October.

4. CONFIRMATION OF OTHER IMPORTANT SUPPLIERS OF THE MARRIAGE
As for the other suppliers needed for the ceremony or the reception of your wedding, the most important to contact are photographers for photos and any video, and musicians for the ceremony and reception. These are the priority because they can not always do more than one wedding the same day and you may find them already engaged, in the same way as the place of the reception or the church. Contact photographers and musicians as soon as possible.Although many online guides recommend to book musicians two or three months before the event, it is not uncommon for the couple to find themselves desperate for a good DJ or Duo Musicale too late, when the most competent have already been confirmed. Keep in mind that, unlike other types of providers, they can not carry more than one wedding a day.
